Laptop In House
GK NEWS NETWORK
Jammu, Feb 20: Legislators are likely to be seen holding their laptops in the legislature, which will meet for its annual budget session from February 22. However, the decision about whether legislators would be allowed to use the laptops in the House is yet to be taken.
Though the laptops, as earlier promised by the Chief Minister, have already been issued to all the members, the decision regarding their usage in the House would be taken by Business Advisory Committee (BAC) which is likely to meet on Monday or Tuesday.
Sources told Greater Kashmir that as of now members are not authorized to use them in the House. “The matter has to be presented before BAC for consideration,” sources said adding, “If the matter receives a nod the recommendation will be tabled before the House for final decision”.
The laptops were provided to the legislators so as to enable them to check records of their constituencies at any time and at any place. There are 89 legislators in the Assembly comprising 87 elected and two nominated and 30 in the Legislative Council.
