FM says next yr budget will be people-friendly

Srinagar, Feb 21: Finance Minister, Abdul Rahim Rather, today inaugurated a treasury at Kunzer in presence of Minister for Agriculture,   Ghulam Hassan Mir.
 Addressing a gathering on the occasion FM said Prime Minister,   Manmohan Singh was keen to see the State touching new heights of progress and development adding that time was not far away when  J&K  would emerge as a  model state in the country.
 Listing the measures taken by the government for welfare of people at grass root level,      Rather made it clear that constitution of first ever Kissan Board   in the state shows the sincerety of Omar Abdullah-led government towards the welfare of the farmers of the state.
 The Finance Minister assured  that the next year’s  Budget would be a people friendly budget, adding that new employment policy, which would be implemented from April 2010, would create new avenues for the unemployed youth.
 He said that more than 20000 unemployed youth have been provided jobs during past 13 months of the Coalition Governmnt’s tenure, while one lakh more educated youth would be provided Government jobs during next five years. He said that overseas employment Corporation headed by Chief Minister himself, has been constituted, which would facilitate jobs for the youth of the State.
 Speaking on the occasion, Minister for Agriculture,   Ghulam Hassan Mir, thanked the Finance Minister for establishing a new Treasury Office at Kunzer.  He called upon the people to stay away from Bandh calls  if they want see    the state  marching on the path of developmental.
