Verghese opens police-public mela, raffle draw held

Jammu, Feb 21: The Officiating Chief Secretary and Financial Commissioner (Home), Samuel Verghese, Sunday asked the police to introduce more schemes for the welfare of the wards of policemen who died during the turmoil.
Speaking at the inauguration of Police Public Mela organized by J&K Police Wives Welfare Association at Police Sports Stadium here, he said during the last 20-years, police families had suffered and it was the duty of all the sections of the society to take care of their wards.
Addressing the media, the Director General of Police, Kuldeep Khoda said the receipts realized from the Melas were utilized for the welfare of families of slain policemen. He said “our aim was to promote academic excellence, augment facilities for education to cater to the needs of the children and to add infrastructure for a wholesome and self-sustained education atmosphere, with all modern facilities”
RAFFLE DRAW RESULTS ANNOUNCED
The results of raffle draw for prizes were announced this evening. Children picked from the gathering drew the numbers for prizes of different categories in presence Kuldeep Khoda Dr. Indu Khoda, Additional Director General of Police (CID), K Rajendra Kumar and other members.
The first prize four WagonRs were won by raffle draw ticket numbers A-33248, B-38156, C-11892 and D-09398. 2nd prize four Alto Cars were bagged by ticket numbers A-29136, B-62403, C-48916 and D-62169. The 3rd prize four Motor Cycles were won by ticket number A-65702, B-48361, C-36912 and D-86476.
Similarly the 4th prize four Scooties went to raffle draw ticket numbers A-71003, B-03944, C-89589 and D-91069. The 5th prize four Laptop Computers goes to ticket numbers A-16763, B-82410, C-52591 and D-64058.The 6th prize four LCD TVs goes to ticket numbers A-23276, B-65274, C-39379 and D-56436. The 7th prize four Handicam Video Cameras goes to ticket numbers A-68677, B-97579, C-16280 and D-51364. The 8th prize four ACs.75 ton were bagged by ticket numbers A-56763, B-26289, C-47183 and D-01477.
The 9th prize four Washing Machines were bagged by ticket numbers A-35629, B-62653, C- 03236 and D-92305. The 10th prize four Nokia Mobile Phones (6300) were won by ticket numberss A-71058, B-16691, C-87847 and D-57897. The 11th prize four Sports Bikes were bagged by ticket numbers A-11904, B-45408, C-50859 and D-34013. The 12th prize four Gas Stoves were won by ticket numbers A-40717, B-64599, C-59325 and D-35911.
The 13th prize four LG. Mobile Phones goes to ticket numbers A-47478, B-02389, C-46246 and D-22965. The 14th prize four Dinner Sets goes to ticket numbers A-77655, B-90251, C-41170 and D-10869.The 15th prize four Sandwitch Makers have been won by ticket numbers A-83700, B-82005, C-19526 and D-56129.
Accordingly, 40 cash prizes of Rs.1,000 went to the tickets with their last four digits 4478. Likewise 400 cash prizes of Rs. 500 go to tickets having last three digits 340 and the 4000 cash prizes of Rs. 100 go to ticket numbers having last two digits of 71.
