GK NEWS NETWORK
Jammu, Feb 22: Various Sikh organizations have called for Jammu Bandh on February 23, Tuesday, in protest against the killing of two Sikhs in the tribal area of Pakistan.
This was disclosed during a press conference on Monday by convener Jammu and Kashmir Sikh United Forum, Sudershan Singh Wazir. He said that the bandh call has also been supported by Bar Association Jammu, transport operators, and Chamber of Commerce and Industries.
Wazir alleged that minority communities in Pakistan were unsafe which was against the notion of Muhammad Ali Jinnah who had given assurance that minorities would be safe in the country.
Condemning the killing of two persons, Wazir urged the Government of India especially Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to impress upon the neighboring country to safeguard the lives and property of minority community.
“International community should come forward and isolate Pakistani establishment at the international fora for its failure in acting against the Taliban,” he demanded. Prominent among those who have supported the strike call included Bhai Kanhaya Nishkam Sewa Society, Jammu and Kashmir Youth Akali Dal.
