Defaming culture

Kashmiri culture is the identity of Kashmiri people. Media plays an important role in depicting culture of any nation. During my childhood, I used to watch Kashmiri serials like HARUD, IMANDAAR, INSAF, SHABRANG etc. These serial were very ethical, cultured and interesting. The Kashmiri actors G.M. Wani, Ayash Arif, Zameer Ashia, Shadilal, Tariq Javid have contributed a great deal towards Kashmiri language and culture. These actors are professionals who play the roles keeping in view their impact on the society. But in the past few years, Kashmiri drama has lost its glory. The reason is the mushrooming of private productions. There are so many so-called actors and actresses making these serials and dramas which are below standard and not worth watching. The humorous serials they make do not give any joy to the viewers but it encourages mediocrity in the serial production. These dramas are defaming Kashmiri culture.
