Release youth or face agitation: Geelani

Srinagar, Feb 24: Tehreek-e-Hurriyat Chairman Syed Ali Shah Geelani today threatened mass agitation if the process of arrests was not immediately stopped and political detainees not released.
 According to a Tehreek statement, Geelani expressed serious concern over the reports about the arrest of over 1000 youth since February 1 and detention of 728 persons under PSA during the past months.
 Geelani alleged that National Conference government was based on the policy of tyranny and oppression. “This government, as a part of its political vendetta, has always been victimizing the pro-freedom people. This government exists only with the support of police and army. If it loses their patronage, it can’t exist for a day in Kashmir.”
