INDO-PAK TALKS
Jammu, Feb 25: Terming Foreign Secretary-level talks between India and Pakistan in Delhi today as “meaningless and a futile exercise”, BJP said it failed to understand why New Delhi should hold dialogue with the government of a country ‘whose people do not listen to it.’
“Today is a black day of Indian history. Pakistan is supporting terrorists. It does not stop cross-border terrorism. It does not have control over terrorists moving freely in that country. Pakistan government is allowing terrorists to use their soil and groom them. With such a country, Government of India is holding talks”, BJP President Nitin Gadkari said while addressing big rally here.
“It is shameful. It is black day for us. I do not understand what pressures are forcing India to hold talks with Pakistan”, he said.
Gadkari said, “Today talks are going on with Pakistan government. I don’t understand why we are holding talks with Pakistan government when the people of that country do not listen to its government”.
“There is no meaning in these talks. It is a futile exercise”, the BJP chief said.
“What happened after 26/11 Mumbai terrorist attacks? People of Pakistan refused to take the bodies of the killed terrorists, who were identified. Their families and places were also identified. Pakistan government first denied involvement in the incident but when the entire plan was exposed, they kept mum. And we are holding talks with this government”, he said.
“Pakistan started proxy war with India,” he said adding it is being continued. “They are fuelling cross-border terrorism. They support Lashker, Taliban, Al Qaeada and ISI.”
Accusing Congress of being pro-minorities and militant forces in the country in “the grab of secularism”, Gadkari said “by all this Congress has created a new country within the country. They had committed this sin for which they will have to pay”.
Referring to Kashmir issue, he said as long Congress is in power at the Centre, a solution to Kashmir issue “is impossible”.
Meanwhile, RSS today said talks between India and Pakistan would not yield any results as long as Islamabad continued its “antagonistic mindset” towards India.
“Pakistan has a continuous antagonistic mindset towards India. Unless that attitude is changed, talks will never be fruitful”, RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat said in Tiruvanantapuram when asked about the Foreign Secretary level talks between India and Pakistan.
“For the success of talks, the situation does not matter. The mindset matters more. India has always offered readiness for talks. But Pakistan has adopted an approach that it can not live with Bharat,” Bhagawat said at a press meet here.
Rubbishing reports about possible involvement of Hindu terror outfits behind the Pune blast, Bhagwat said “this bogey has been created ever since the Malegaon blasts.”
