Govt revises rates for school constructions

Jammu, Feb 25: The Government has revised the construction rates for school buildings in the remote areas said the School Education Minister, Peerzada Muhammad Sayed while replying to supplementaries on a question by Prof Chaman Lal Gupta.
 He said 1870 primary schools and 192 middle school buildings in the Jammu Division and 2372 primary schools, 424 middle schools in the Kashmir Division had been constructed under various schemes.

‘New stream in colleges as per requirements’
 The Higher Education Minister, Abdul Gani Malik said that new streams had been introduced in the colleges, as per the requirements put forth by the managements.
 The Speaker asked the Minister to consider the demand of starting science stream in Tral College.

‘RBA status as per criteria’
 To a question, Social Welfare minister, Sakina Itoo, said there was no pick and choose in granting status of backward areas to the villages recommended.
Revenue department pays Rs 2233200 to 2071 affected families
 The Horticulture Minister, Sham Lal Sharma said the Revenue Department had paid Rs 2233200 to 2071 affected families of 24 villages of Beerwah and Khag on account of damages to the fruits caused due to the wind storm and hail storm during 2008-09. However, in respect of Ichgam, Astanpora, Sikanderpora, Larkipora and Bongund, Rs. 140400, Rs. 57900, Rs. 4500, respectively are unpaid.

4000 flats for migrants coming up
 The Minister of State for Housing & Urban Development, Nasir Aslam Wani today said that 4000 two-room flats were under construction at Jagti Nagrota for the Kashmiri Migrants.

Measures initiated to fill vacant RD posts
 The Minister of State for Rural Development, Aijaz Ahmad Khan said that filling up of vacancies of Junior Engineers and supervisors in Rural Development Department had been taken up with Roads and Buildings Department and filing up of the vacant posts of Village Level Workers (VLWs) had been referred to SSRB, as per the Recruitment Rules.
