Other side

This refers to the article titled “Stop pinpricking Omar” (GK .15 Feb) by Tanvir Sadiq. It is quite sad that the author has approached different issues with a very narrow mindset. He has failed to observe the other side of the story. In the past few months, we saw some gruesome incidents like the Shopian double rape and murder case. The author seems to
have no sympathies for the people of Kashmir. All is not well with the government of Jammu and Kashmir. Perhaps the author doesn’t want to talk about the human rights violations at the hands of the so-called security forces. Human rights have lost value in Kashmir. That is no peace, Mr Tanvir! True, army camps in Sopur and Khaigam were shifted. But were the culprits punished? Why weren’t they booked? The author’s assertion that what’s wrong if the Chief Minister goes to Delhi to nab the culprits is a question in itself: who is actually running the Government?
