JK Bank disburses Rs 42 lakh at employment fair

Srinagar, Feb 2: J&K Bank disbursed Rs 42 lakhs to a total of 64 beneficiaries on the concluding day of Employment Fair at Udhampur on Jan 31.
R R Sharma, Additional District Development Commissioner, Udhampur presided over the function and handed over the cheques to the beneficiaries whose cases were processed under various schemes including SGSY, J&KSES, PMEGP (KVIB, DIC), SJSRY, J&KSE/BC/ST, JK Handloom/Handicraft, the bank in a statement said.
The weeklong fair saw thousands of people turning up at the J&K Bank stall for credit counseling and seeking information about various products and services offered by the Bank.
Speaking on the occasion, Sharma urged the youth to take maximum benefit of the government sponsored schemes and J&K Bank employment generating financial products to defeat the menace of unemployment and usher a new era of youth entrepreneurship and empowerment.
Hailing the J&K Bank’s efforts, Anil Kumar, a local businessman who attended the fair and paid visit to Bank’s stall said, “Availability of brochures and handbills providing information about J&K Bank’s products and services and also about government sponsored schemes was the unique feature of the fair. The Bank deserves appreciation for this great effort”.
Others present on the occasion included G M Sadiq, Bank’s Cluster Head and officers from the district administration.
