Srinagar, Feb 5: Police and paramilitary CRPF troopers did not allow people to offer congregational Friday prayers at historic Jamia Masjid and several other Masjids in old city, locals said.
“The entire neighborhood remained under siege of police and paramilitary CRPF troopers. They didn’t allow people to come out of their homes. We went to offer Friday prayers, but troopers asked us to go back as curfew was in place,” residents of Nowahata, Gojwara and other areas told Greater Kashmir over phone.
