Details sought on Zahid’s killing

Srinagar, Feb 6: Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, appointed as inquiry officer to look into the killing of Zahid Farooq by BSF troops in Nishat Srinagar, has sought information from the public about the killing.
A Government communiqué Saturday said: “Whereas Government has appointed Divisional Commissioner Kashmir for conducting inquiry into the facts and circumstances in which the death of the aforementioned youth took place. The inquiry has to be completed and submitted to the Government within one week.
In order to conduct the inquiry, it is notified for information of general public that any person having any information about the said incident can record their statement in person with the enquiry officer (Divisional Commissioner Kashmir) or convey the same in writing or send it on fax: 2452558/2487777 or inform on telephone No’s 0194-2455357, 2452643 (between 10.30 AM to 4.30 PM with effect from 8th Feb to 13th Feb 2010). Information can also be sent by email on divcomk@gmail.com. Identity of the person shall be kept confidential.”
