Congress leader, 3 others killed in mishap

Jammu, Feb 7: A Congress leader was among four members of a family killed when a car rolled down into a gorge on Jammu-Srinagar highway here today, police said.
The car, on its way from Ramban to Jammu, skidded off the highway and rolled down into the gorge at Jhakhani belt of Udhampur district, they said.
Ramban block president of Congress Shakti Singh, Vijay Singh, Haider Singh and Sham Singh were killed on the spot while Bhodi Singh received injuries and was rushed to hospital.
All of them were on their way to attend the marriage ceremony of daughter of Member Parliament Choudhary Lal Singh in Kathua.
Official sources said a Maruti Car JK02V-8702 was on its way from Ramban to Kathua when it skidded off the road and fell into a deep gorge at Jhakhni, near Udhampur, Sunday morning.
