CRPF not involved, claims DG

GK NEWS NETWORK

Jammu, Feb 7: Paramilitary CRPF today said an internal enquiry had revealed that its personnel were not involved in Zahid Farooq’s killing.
“CRPF is not involved. We made an enquiry at our own level and found that there was no involvement of anyone from the CRPF,” the Special Director General (CRPF) N K Tripati said here.
Zahid Farooq (16) was shot dead on Friday by unidentified troopers at Brein-Nishat, 12 kms from here.
Tripati said “It was some unknown vehicle involved in the killing”
The state police would probe into the case and CRPF has nothing to do with it, he said.
When asked about allegations of high-handedness of the forces, he said “CRPF personnel have exercised great restraint and controlled the situation in extremely professional manner.”
“There are no complaints of human rights violations against CRPF till now,” he claimed and added “Nearly 1500 CRPF personnel have been injured in stone pelting during one and half years in Kashmir valley”
