Save forests

This refers to the article titled “We are losing this wealth’’ by Prof. N.A. Masudi (GK, Jan 23). Forests are a real wealth of Kashmir. Kashmir is known for its beauty and this beauty is nothing without forests. These are the most important sources of biological diversity in our valley. But unfortunately, deforestation is going on in Kashmir at a very alarming rate. It is for the Forest Department to look into the issue and ensure that we save this wealth for posterity.
