Police launches drive against drug peddlers

Islamabad, Dec 31: In a major drive against drug addiction, police here arrested two drug peddlers and about a dozen addicts from last few days.
 A team under the supervision of SHO, Islamabad Muhammad Ayub Rather has been constituted to tackle the growing menace, police said.
 On Tuesday Subzar Ahmad War son of Muhmmad Maqbool War of Arwani, Bijbehra was arrested and 54 bottles of recodex were seized from him. He has been booked under 456 Drug control Act 3/7. On the same day 2.5 Kilogram of Charas was recovered from the possession of Tariq Ahmad Dar son of Ali Muhammad Dar of Krandigam, Bijbehra. FIR.no 510 under section 8/20 NDPS was filed against him.
 Meanwhile, on Wednesday about dozen youth were detained for consuming addictive drugs. The arrestees mostly in their 20s according to the police were addicted to ink remover, shoe polish, iodex, nail polish besides other sedatives and tranquilizers.
