Stock, supply position in Srinagar reviewed
'Check use of duplicate gas cylinders'

Srinagar, Jan 11: Adequate quantity of essentials like rice, atta, LPG and other petroleum products are available with the Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution (CAPD) department. However, additional supplies of sugar are expected within next couple of days which will ensure comfortable stock of this item also.
This information, according to an official statement, was given to the Minister for Agriculture, Ghulam Hassan Mir here today during a high level meeting held to review the availability of essentials and other winter related arrangements in Kashmir valley.
The meeting was informed that 1.70 lakh LPG cylinders which are sufficient for 15 days are available with the various oil companies while k-oil for one month is in stock. Eighty percent of essentials have been dispatched to the godowns and CA&PD department would put efforts to ensure availability of essentials at the sale outlets from first of every month. Additional quota of 15000 quintal atta is expected to be received every month in the near future.
The Minister directed the CA&PD department to initiate a vigorous campaign to check the use of duplicate gas cylinders and also intensify market checking to maintain price line of various commodities. He asked the PHE department to ensure availability of drinking water in all the rural areas and press tankers into service wherever necessary.
