Ridiculous statement
This refers to a recent statement by Minister for Rural Development, Ali Muhammad Sagar (GK January, 5). The statement that it was for Centre to allow International tribunal to probe Shopian case was ridiculous. Let me remind people that Mr Sagar is the same minister who—immediately after the Shopian tragedy—said the culprits would be brought to book within 48 hours. Mr Sagar! Where are those culprits? If the government of Jammu and Kashmir has competence to order a judicial inquiry into the incident, why does it need Centre’s nod to get the matter probed by the International Tribunal?
