GK NEWS NETWORK
Srinagar, Jan 12: The Travel Agents Association of Kashmir (TAAK) has welcomed the “drive against unscrupulous men giving bad name to Kashmir tourism” by tourism department.
At a meeting here today the members took a dig at the “elements cheating and harassing tourists and bringing bad name to the entire tourism industry.”
The meeting noted with satisfaction that there was an upswing trend in the tourist arrivals and “we witnessed a huge pilgrim and pleasure tourist rush in November and December.”
“The tourism players and service providers have to play a role of responsible professionals while catering to the tourists,” they said.
The meeting said, “A handful of people in the trade are giving bad name to this glorious industry. TAAK assures its full support to the department of tourism in cleaning up the mess in the trade by delisting the unscrupulous travel agents and other unprofessional people who have sneaked into the trade.”
“We hope the department will continue its drive against these elements on sustained basis so that the tourists will have the hassle free time in the Valley,” they said.
