‘Adhere to pollution control norms’

Jammu, Jan 15: The Minister for Environment, Ecology and Forests, Mian Altaf has asked the brick kiln owners to adopt pollution checking norms for keeping the environs clean.
 Talking with the representatives of Brick Kiln Association here today, he sought check on unplanned growth of these kilns in the residential areas, adding the increasing pollution had posed threat to flora and fauna.
 He called for rationalizing the existing kilns adding the concentration of brick kilns in a specific area was causing inconvenience to people. He called for installation of pollution control devices in various industrial units.
 The representatives of kiln holders highlighted their demands and sought to simplify registration norms.
