GK NEWS NETWORK
Jammu, Jan 15: Brother of former minister and Member Legislative Assembly Molvi Iftikhar Hussain Ansari was granted bail by the court of Special Judge anti-corruption Jammu in Sidhra land scam, here today.
Dr Amjad Abas Ansari, one of the accused in multi-crore new Jammu Scam, was granted bail after he surrendered before Special Judge Anticorruption Jammu, here today. His brother, who is the prime accused in the case, is yet to appear despite the court summons issued in his name through Speaker Legislative Assembly.
Hearing the bail application, filed by the accused after surrendering before the court, Special Judge Anticorruption Jammu JR Kotwal after hearing defense counsel and the senior prosecuting officer appearing for the Crime Branch granted bail to Dr Amjad subject to condition that he furnishes personal bond to the tune of Rs 50,000 along with surety in the like amount. In default he was directed to be kept in the judicial custody.
The court observed that Senior Prosecuting Officer submitted that the investigation of the case has already been completed and charge-sheet filed in this Court so prosecution has no objection if the applicant-accused is admitted to bail.
