Make heavy investments in power sector

Srinagar, Jan 15: The representatives of some premier business and industrial chambers of J&K today urged the government to make huge investments to generate power in state sector. At a press conference at Jammu, the traders’ and industry leaders said deficiency of power was a major reason for the backwardness of J&K.
The leaders comprised president Chamber of Commerce and Industry Jammu Y Sharma, chairman Federation of Industries Jammu Davinder Mahajan, president Federation of Chamber of Industries Kashmir, Shakeel Qalander, president Association of Industries and co-chairman Federation of Industries Jammu Tejwant Singh Reen and secretary general Chamber of Commerce and Industry Jammu Satish Gupta. They appealed the government to make more and more investments into the power sector to generate more energy in the state sector. “This will help the state to rid of its backwardness and help growth of industry and commerce,” they said.
