Sikhs protest against attack on Gurdwara in Australia

Jammu, Jan 16: Various Sikh organisations Saturday held protests here against burning of a Gurdwara in Melbourne, Australia by miscreants.
The leaders of the Sikh organizations strongly condemned the incident and said that it had hurt the sentiments of the community. They appealed Government of India to take up the issue of attacks on Indians and now attack on religious place with the Australian government. They also appealed Australian government to arrest the culprit and punish them.
The Sikh leaders asked the president Shiromani Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee (SGPC) Amritsar, Avtar Singh to visit the place of incident in Australia and personally call on Australia government over the issue.
The Sikh organizations including Bhai Kajaya Nishkam Sewa Society, Nirbou Nirver Organisation, AISSF, Shiromani Youth Akali Dal and Sikh Progressive Front later presented a memorandum to UN office.
