Kanitaar Jinazgah without streetlights
GK NEWS NETWORK
Srinagar, Jan 18: The other day the residents of Nasimabad, Kanitaar found no options but to carry lanterns along, for the burial of their neighbour.
This was because the Jinazgah like other parts of the colony has no lighting arrangement.
“For the last many years we have been appealing before the authorities to install streetlights in the area particularly at the Jinazgah, but every time our pleas fell to deaf ears,” said a delegation of locals.
Referring to the nocturnal burial of the neighbour, the residents said: “Leave alone life, even burial is inconvenient in such conditions.”
They appealed the Srinagar Municipal Corporation authorities to look into the matter and install streetlights at an earliest.
