IUST launches ‘The Echo’
Srinagar, Jan 1: The Islamic University of Science and Technology has launched its first campus newspaper ‘The Echo’. The paper is an enterprise of Journalism Department. Launching the newspaper, the registrar University Prof. Amin Masoodi said, “I have seen newspapers, now the voice of people of Kashmir, starting in a humble way. I am sure The Echo will go a long way ahead”. The first issue carried stories on campus and students’ life which was appreciated by the heads of the departments. The newspaper will be published monthly from March.

Yasir appointed PDP district President
Srinagar, Jan 1: Senior PDP leader Yasir Reshi was Friday appointed party’s District President for Bandipora. The announcement was made by the PDP President Mehbooba Mufti here Friday. Reshi had unsuccessfully contested 2008 assembly elections from Sonawari assembly segment of district Bandipora. He was presently functioning as the party’s Zonal President for Sonawari.
