Let’s Keep City Clean
WE THE SRINAGARITES
I think ignorance is being shown by the authorities in beautification of the City. Even though the government proposes to bring more and more tourists, every nook and corner of the City looks awkward. Even the tourist hub, the Dal lake. The Dal is crying for help and authorities are preparing to construct bridges on it as was recently reported by Greater Kashmir. Many such activities are going on.
What I think is that rather than other issues, the authorities should improve sanitation on priority basis. There should not be any garbage heaps anywhere. The SMC needs to install more and more dumper bins. After that streetlights need to be installed. Besides, traffic signals should also be erected. Once these targets are achieved, only then other developmental activities aimed at beautification of the City should be taken up.
