Traders raise pitch against GST

GK NEWS NETWORK

Srinagar, Jan 1: The Kashmir Traders’ Federation today expressed serious concerns over the impending introduction of GST in the state.
A delegation of the traders led by president KTF Jan Muhammad Koul today called on commissioner commercial tax Khawaja Bashir and apprised him of their concerns with the new tax law.
The KTF in a statement said the commissioner CT informed them that would take at least two years to implement the GST in the state.
The statement said the commissioner assured the delegation that their concerns would be taken care of prior to the introduction of the new law.
“Before introducing this law in the entire country, experts would visit to every state, talk to the stake holders, traders organizations and officials concerned to get their suggestions. This process will take at least two years till then the introduction of GST is out of question,” the statement quoted the commissioner CT as saying.
The statement said the commissioner informed the traders that SRO 142-A had been passed, and “it will give a lot of relief to the traders.”
