Baghiyas Zampakadal oppose drain construction

GK NEWS NETWORK

Srinagar, Jan 21: The residents of Baghiyas, Zampakadal have said the construction of drain in the area could prove detrimental for the residential houses there.
A delegation of the residents led by the Intizaamiya Committee Jamia Masjid Ahli Hadees Zampa Kadal said the depth of deep drain to be constructed in the area would vary between 12 to 19 feet adding that such a depth in the proximity of the residential houses and local Masjid could weaken the foundation of the building structures.
“Its better for the authorities to maintain the natural drain instead of making a new deep drain,” the Intizaamiya committee said.
"We many a time apprized the authorities about the issue but no action was taken."
They appealed the Srinagar Municipal Corporation authorities to look into the matter at an earliest.
