Govt announces Sher-i-Kashmir Police Medals

Jammu: The Government today announced award of Sher-i-Kashmir Police Medals for Gallantry and Sheri-i-Kashmir Police Medals for Meritorious Service on the Republic Day 2010, for officers and jawans of the state police.
The awards were given for exemplary bravery and courage beyond the call of normal duty while dealing with the grave law and order situation.
The awardees of Police Medal for Gallantry are: Rajesh Kumar, IPS then DIG ,South Kashmir, Islamabad, Bashir Ahmed Khan, S P Awantipore and Muhammad Aslam, ASP (Operations) Pulwama.
The SK Police Medals for Meritorious Service awardees are: A KGupta, IGP, Jammu Zone, Johny William, SSP Security, Jammu, Kuldeep Krishan Raina, Inspector (PHQ) and Mehboob-ul-Haq, Inspector, Armed Headquarters.
Sher-i-Kashmir Police Medals for Gallantry on the eve of Independence Day 2009 were also announced. They are: SDPO Hazratbnal, Mubashir Bukhari, SDPO Shaheed Gunj, Shahzad Ahmed Salaria, DY. SP (Operations) Sopur, Muhammad Yousuf, SHO Manjakote, Niaz Ahmed, Constables Subash Chander and Javaid Ahmad. SGCT, Kashmir Singh, Head Constables Ram Rattan and Muhammad Rafi, Constables, Ajeet Kumar, SPO Chuni Lal.
The Sher-i-Kashmir Police Medals for Meritorious Service (Independence Day 2009) awardees are: DIG, Railways, Muhammad Sulamian Salaria, SSP (AIG) Personnel (PHQ) N.D.Wani, SSP PCR, Jammu, Jagdish Lal Sharma and Head Constable, JKAP 7th Bn. Charan Dass.
