HCBA concerned over civilian killings

Srinagar, Jan 25: The Jammu and Kashmir High Court Bar Association today expressed serious concern over the killing of civilians from January 1 and said it would present a detailed report to the international human rights associations about these killings.
“Since January 1, 2010 almost a dozen civilian killings have taken place at the hands of the forces,” said Bar General Secretary, G N Shaheen in a statement here. He said the Bar would raise the issue with the rights bodies.
Giving details, he said at Yakmanpora Parihaspora Pattan a student Manzoor Ahmad Sofi was killed by the forces. “Similarly forces in Kalmpora Shadimarg Pulwama killed Mushtaq Ahmad Mir,” he said. Earlier, he alleged, Inayat-ullah Khan, a class 11th class of Dalgate was killed by CRPF in Lal Chowk here. He said another student Zahid was presently battling for life in the SMHS Hospital.
