JK police bags 28 President’s police medals

Jammu, Jan 25: Twenty eight policeman and officers of Jammu and Kashmir police have been awarded President’s Police Medal for their gallantry and distinguished services on the eve of R Day.
The awardees are Sardar Khan, Superintendent of Police, Muhammad Arshad, Superintendent of Police, S Kaliraj Mahaish Kumar, Additional Superintendent of Police, Jameel Ahmed Khatana, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Sukh Dev Singh, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Peerzada Naveed, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Rajinder Singh Rahi, Inspector, Pawan Singh, Sub-Inspector, Kafeel Ahmed, Head Constable, Muhammad Rafiq, Head Constable, and Constables, Abdul Majid Najar, Muhammad Imran Lone, Aijaz Ahmed Mir, Ishaq Ahmed and a follower, Kanwal Singh.
The distinguished services awards have been conferred to Abdul Qayoom Manhas, Deputy Inspector General of Police, (North Kashmir), Sunil Kumar Sharma, Deputy Inspector General of Police (CID) Jammu, Kasturi Lal Bhagat, Commandant (JKAP) 12 Battalion, Shyam Sunder Sharma, Superintendent of Police (APCR), Jammu, Thakur Dass Saini, Superintendent of Police, Railway Headquarters, Hial Ahmed Shah, Senior Superintendent of Police, Telecommunication, Jammu, Swatanter Kumar (SDPO) City North, Jammu, Muhammad Aslam, Deputy Superintendent of Police (PHQ), Abdul Rashid Shah, Inspector CID Headquarters, Aurengzeb Rather, Sub-Inspector (DSB), Poonch, Muhammad Rafiq Bhat Sub-Inspector, (Police Component) Srinagar, Muhammad Shafi, Sub-Inspector (SSG) and Parvaiz Ahmed Malik, Head Constable (JKAP), 13 Battalion.
Manhas joined police as Dy SP in the year 1984 and has worked as S P (Operations) Kupwara in 1994, AIG (P) PHQ,
SSP CID Hqrs, DIG, CID Headquarters and DIG Jammu-Kathua Range.
