Srinagar: The Social Welfare Department’s Employees Association (Non-Gazetted) held a meeting in Pulwama with its president, Farooq Ahmad in chair.
 According to an Association statement, the participants demanded creation of section officers posts in District Social Welfare Offices and Programme Offices, creation of head assistant posts in the newly created District Social Welfare Offices/Child Development Project Offices, reservation of 25 per cent promotion quota out of direct quota for Head Assistants/Senior Assistants against the posts of Tehsil Social Welfare Officers/Superintendent Homes & social Workers respectively, timely release of salary for ICDS Staff, release of OE/Office Contingenci es for ICDS/Social Welfare Offices for smooth functioning of work, creation of computer assistants in the offices of Tehsil Social Welfare Offices, District Social Welfare Offices & Programme Offices, creation of staff for newly created Tehsil Social Welfare Offices, viz; Srinagar North, Lar, D.H.Pora, Kokernag, creation of additional staff for Tehsil Social Welfare Offices in view of flow of newly schemes and  sanction of time bound cases of eligible officials in time.
