Prompted by the public outcry against the presence of liquor shops on Boulevard, the head priest at Ziarat Syed Sahib (RA) Sonawar has appealed the Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah to get the wine shops shifted to some cantonment.
“Following lot many complaints, I appeal Omar sahib to get the liquor shops shifted to some cantonment so that this menace remains away from our society,” said Moulana Akhzar Hussain, Imam-e-Khateeb, Ziarat Syed Sahib (RA).
“The liquor shops proved disastrous for the Dalgate family and no kind of consolation or relief in cash or kind can get the mother of three young girls back,” the Imam told Greater Kashmir adding that he recently asked the business community to pick up the issue of liquor trade menace with the government.
