‘Allocate Rs 1 crore to each constituency for power’

Jammu: The Assurance Committee of Legislative Assembly which met here today under the Chairmanship of MLA, M Y Tarigami, has called for allocating of Rs one crore to each constituency for improvement and augmentation of power scenario.
 He urged upon the government to solve the genuine demands of the Daily Wagers working in the Power Development Department and take decision for their regularization.
 It was informed in the meeting that Rajiv Gandhi Graim Vidutikaran Yojna was being implemented in Kupwara, Varmul, Islamabad, Pulwama, Rajouri, Poonch and Doda. The meeting said the execution of the scheme was at advanced stage in Kupwara and Islamabad and would be completed in 2010-11, while the work in remaining districts was to be completed by December 2011.
 The Chairman asked the Power Development Department to accelerate the pace of work on all ongoing projects.
