Speaker orders probe in patient's death at LD

Srinagar, Jan 27: The Speaker, Legislative Assembly, MA Lone on Wednesday ordered inquiry into death of a patient, allegedly due to negligence, at LD Hospital in the City. The woman belonged to his Sumbal Sonawari constituency.
An official handout said on landing in the summer capital the Speaker drove straight to the LD Hospital where the patient breathed her last today.
“The Speaker called Deputy Commissioner, Srinagar and Principal, Government Medical College, Srinagar on the spot and directed Deputy Commissioner to appoint an inquiry committee headed by Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC), Srinagar with HOD Medicine, HOD Surgery and HOD Gynecology as its members to find out cause of death,” the handout said.
The report has to be completed within 10 days.
Later, Lone held negotiations with Kins of deceased and pacified them by announcing appointment of inquiry committee and assured them to punish the guilty.
