GK NEWS NETWORK
Srinagar, Jan 28: Tipper owners association has alleged that some miscreants at Achan on the City outskirts, have attacked the tripper drivers who carry earth for land filling in the area.
A delegation of the drivers association said the miscreants on Tuesday evening attacked the drivers and beat them up.
“We are simply workers and work against the wages. If they have any problem with the contractor or if they don’t want that the work to continue they should stop the work but they must not attack the contractors,” Ghulam Mohi-ud-Din, the president Sheikh-ul-Islam Tipper Owners Association said.
He said one of the tipper drivers Firdous Ahmad was injured in the accident and has been admitted in hospital.
Din said their vehicles were on finance and asked people not to restore to any violence against the drivers or the tippers.
He said tipper drivers were being harassed at Bemina as well.
The association appealed the Deputy Chief Minister who also holds the portfolio of urban development ministry to intervene in the issue.
