2 troopers killed in Kishtwar

Kishtwar Jan 29: At least two troopers were killed when militants ambushed an army patrol in this hilly district on Friday.
“Militants fired upon a column of 11 RR on its way to upper reaches of Dacchan area near Tandar village this morning killing two troopers on the spot,” officials said.
They said that militants opened fire from two different directions and also lobbed hand grenades on the search party. “After carrying out the attack they managed to flee away from the spot,” they added.
“After the attack reinforcements were rushed to track the militants. However, army had to call off the operation in the afternoon due to inclement weather conditions,” officials said.
They identified the deceased as lance nayak, Jagish Raj of 11 RR and Raj Kumar of 159 Territorial Army.
