Srinagar, Jan 30: In the first attempt of its kind, the Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages has come out with a Ladakhi publication on the life and teachings of Prophet Muhammad (SAW).
The book entitled “The Message and Teachings of Prophet Muhammad” dwells upon the basic teachings of the Prophet (SAW) and his way of life.
“This is a rare book on the life of the Prophet (SAW). I am sure people would appreciate our efforts,” said Secretary Cultural Academy, Zafar Iqbal Manhas.
Commenting on the publication, Jnanpith awardee Prof Rehman Rahi said a book on the Prophet (SAW) in any of the regional languages of the state would only help people understand Islam.
“It is really great that the Cultural Academy has brought out the book,” Rahi said, adding, “Such publications were needed as these would go a long way in propagating the true teachings of the Prophet (SAW).”
Noted Ladakhi scholar and historian, Abdul Gani Sheikh, said, “This was a long awaited book. It would for sure help Ladakhi knowing Muslims understand the Prophet (SAW) in a better way.”
