Stadium Colony seeks drainage completion

Residents appeal MLA

GK NEWS NETWORK

Srinagar, Jan 3:  The residents of Stadium Colony, Natipora said they were facing inconvenience due to “slow pace” of work on under construction drain there.
They said after repeated public appeals, the local MLA had directed the authorities to construct drainage network and subsequently work was started in July 2009.
The residents alleged the pace remained so slow that mere 200 meter work was completed in three months.
“When work on healthcare centre in the constituency could be completed on war footing, why can’t the work on drain be done speedily?” asked a resident, Areej Sultana.
The complainants said they face inconvenience in moving out. “The problem is particularly more so for children and elderly,” they added.
The residents have appealed the local MLA to look into the matter.
