Drug peddlers held

Srinagar, Jan 4: Three suspected drug traffickers were today arrested along with 1.5 kgs of ‘charas’ worth lakhs of rupees in international market, in Pulwama district of south Kashmir, police said.
The peddlers were arrested this evening by a police checking squad at New Colony Kadlabal in Pampore, 16 kms from here on Srinagar-Jammu Highway, a police spokesman said.
The arrested persons have been identified as Hilal Ahmad Wani, Issac Ahmad Tantray and Nazir Ahmad Shergujree -- all residents of Arihal village of Pulwama.
The trio were in possession of 1.5 kgs of charas, the spokesman said, adding a case under NDPS Act had been registered against them.
