Governor, CM greet people on Gurupurab

Jammu, Jan 4: The Governor, N N Vohra, has greeted the people on the auspicious occasion of the birth anniversary of Guru Gobind Singh.
In a message of felicitations, the Governor observed that Guru Gobind Singh Ji was an apostle of peace, compassion and love. He said that the values underlying the teachings of the great Guru will continue to inspire future generations to strive for establishing a healthier society and a just social order.
The Governor expressed the hope that this auspicious day would be a harbinger of peace, progress and prosperity in Jammu and Kashmir and further strengthen the bonds of communal harmony, brotherhood and secular traditions which have been the hallmark of the glorious heritage and composite ethos of the State for centuries past.
Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has greeted the people on the birthday of Guru Gobind Singh. Omar wished well being to the people and peace and prosperity to the country and the state.
In his felicitation message issued here today on the eve of Guru Ji’s birth anniversary, Omar hoped that the day will be harbinger of all round development for the state. He said that Jammu and Kashmir possesses rich ethos of celebrating festivals and holidays in a traditional way of amity and love. “The secular traditions and bonds of brotherhood in the state will get further strengthened”, he expressed confidence.
