5% DA sanctioned

Jammu, Jan 7: The state cabinet, which met here today with the Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah, in chair, sanctioned release of July 2009 instalment of Dearness Allowance at five per cent of the basic pay raising the total DA payable with effect from July, 2009 from 22 to 27 per cent of pay to the state government employees including work charge/whole time contingent paid employees working on regular time scale.
This will apply mutatis-mutandis in case of All India Service officers serving in connection with the affairs of the state.
The cabinet also approved release of July 2009 DA at five per cent in favour of the state pensioners and family pension beneficiaries w.e.f. July 1, 2009 raising their DA from 22 to 27 per cent of pension.
The differential amount payable on account of the revised DA w.e.f. from 1-7-2009 to 31-3-2010 shall be credited to their individual G.P. Fund Account. However, the DA differential on account of enhancement for corresponding period shall be paid to pensioners/family pensioners in cash in two equal instalments in the month of April and June 2010.
