Killing of Islamabad youth cold-blooded murder: Beg
KHALID GUL
Islamabad, June 30: Terming the killing of three teenagers in this south Kashmir town by the police on Tuesday as a cold-blooded murder, senior National Conference leader and Member Parliament, Dr Mehboob Beg has demanded a judicial probe into the incident and action against the police officials involved in the act.
“I appeal the Chief Minister to order a high-level judicial probe into this unfortunate incident. As the firing incident in which three innocent teenagers lost their lives and four were injured at SK colony was totally unjustified as politically conscious citizens of the town were exercising their right to peaceful demonstration,” said Beg adding that the killing of three teenagers is cold-blooded murder as the victims were fired upon from point blank range after being dragged out of the residential houses by the police.
Quoting the report of the doctors, Beg said the doctors in their report have clearly stated that the victims were shot on neck, chest, head and shoulder which was against any policing norms and speaks of the sinister design behind the heinous crime. He also urged the district authorities to expose the police officers involved in what he termed a cowardly act and demanded stern punishment for them under the law of the land otherwise it would put the entire police force under mistrust.
Appealing the people of Islamabad to maintain calm and tranquillity, Beg said: “I request people not to allow the vested interests succeed in their nefarious designs and help them to overcome these irresponsible forces.”
Meanwhile, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), President, Mehbooba Mufti alleged that the government has let loose the police, CRPF and army persons and they were acting on the directions of the state government.
“The government is avenging the people for they have been rejected by them and transferring the police and administrative officials is futile,” she said adding that from Bomai to Islamabad the government have been mishandling the situation and then justifying these dastardly acts.
She also said that all the enquiries are futile as the government itself is the culprit.
