Probe allegations, submit report: DDC to officials
Illegal allotments, encroachments in Rajouri town
SHAFIQ MIR
Rajouri, June 30: Acting on the complaint made by the locals regarding large scale illegal allotments of mobile shops and encroachments of government within the municipal limits here, District Development Commissioner Rajouri has asked the concerned officials to look into the accusations and submit the factual report.
Sources said, two days ago, citizens of Rajouri town and peripheries had raised the issue in a meeting convened by DDC. Taking serious note of the allegations, DDC Rajouri Ghulam Ahmed Khawaja has asked the officials to submit the factual report in this regard as soon as possible.
Sources said, at least 26 mobile shops had been allotted by the officials of Municipal Committee to some persons by allegedly flouting all procedures and norms. Not only this, some influential people have also allegedly encroached government land in the town.
When contacted DDC Rajouri, admitted that the issue was raised by the citizens and said he had directed the officials to submit the detailed report about the matter. “Further action will be taken only after the verification of the record and if any legal deficiency was found action would be taken against those responsible,” said G M Khawaja.
