3 persons drown

Srinagar, July 11: Three persons including a girl drowned at different places in the Valley.
 A boy Amaan Bashir son of Bashir Ahmad Shah of Koker Mohalla Harwan drowned in Sarband water reservoir at Harwan here, police said adding the body of the deceased was fished out and handed over to the family for last rites.
 In another incident, a conductor Shabir Ahmad Naik son of Abdul Rashid Naik of Parnod Ramban drowned in Jhelum while taking a bath near Sempora Pantha Chowk here, police said. Later the body was fished out from the river and investigation taken up, police added.
 A girl Showkia Akther daughter of Nazir Ahmad Sheikh of Frislan Pahalgam drowned in river Lidder while bathing at Betaab valley. Police has launched an operation to fish out the body.
