Kashmiris protest in Delhi, Pune
GK NEWS NETWORK
New Delhi/Pune July 11: Kashmiris staying in New Delhi and Pune staged peaceful protests on Sunday demanding an end to spate of killings in the Valley.
In New Delhi, Kashmiris businessmen, students, doctors, academicians and several other professionals converged on Parliament Street near Jantar Mantar this morning demanding end to the violence in the Valley.
“We feel it is our moral duty to stage this sit-in after watching the violence and bloodshed in the past weeks. At least 15 youth have been killed in Police and CRPF action and we condemn it. We deplore the military response of the Government to civilian protestors,” said, Dr Shameem Ahmad (name changed).
Protestors demanded revocation of the Armed Forces Special Forces Act (AFSPA), due to which troopers operating in Jammu and Kashmir enjoy impunity. Similarly Kashmir students took out a peaceful rally in Pune. Carrying posters in their hands the students said that motive of it was to make people aware about the problems faced by common Kashmiris.
Leading the rally Fazal Amin Dar said more such rallies would be organized in future also. “We demand a political solution to Kashmir issue as we cannot afford to lose yet another generation,” Dar added.
