Govt skips suburb colony census!
GULBERG COLONY RESIDENTS SMELL FOUL PLAY
GK NEWS NETWORK
Srinagar, July 12: The government could have finished the census in the summer Capital but it seems to have forgotten the counting at this colony in the south City suburb.
The residents of Gulberg Colony Sector 3, Hyderpora said not a single house there has been put to census by the government even though the adjacent areas were scanned almost a month ago.
With this being the census plight at a colony mere 3 miles from the City centre, the exercise elsewhere in the state could only be imagined.
The issue has drawn severe criticism from the locals who term it a “deep rooted conspiracy.”
“How is it possible that the authorities would forget to census our locality which is so close to the City? This is a part of a conspiracy against the majority community of the state,” said a delegation of locals requesting not to be named.
They sought a probe into the matter.
When contacted an official dealing with the census said the Gulberg Colony “might have been missed as the Sector 3 is at the tail end”.
“Still, we have already notified through newspapers that anybody having complaints can contact our helpline numbers because we are yet to finish the job,” said the official requesting not to be named.
