AK-47 goes missing from SDM’s house

Rajouri, July 13: A security guard attached with sub-divisional magistrate Mendhar as PSO has lost his weapon AK-47 from the official residence of SDM on Sunday.
Police have taken into custody three policemen and driver of SDM after a case was registered.
Sources said the incident took place when SDM was out of the station for an official engagement in Jammu and his both the security guards deployed at the residence also went to their respective homes leaving their weapons behind in the quarter.
“On the next day when they reached back, they found all locks opened including the box of one of the security guards and his AK-47 gun was missing from the trunk,” they added.
SHO Mendhar Farooq Shah while confirming the incident said that three persons have been arrested while another has been called for questioning.
SDM Mukhtar Chowdhary told Greater Kashmir it might be an attempt to assault him.
