Forest officials, smugglers clash; 2 hurt

Pulwama, July 14: A forest official and a timber smuggler were injured when a group of nearly 20 smugglers clashed with the forest department officials at Keller in the wee hours here on Wednesday.
 Reports said forest and SFC officials intercepted the smugglers and clashed with them. Witnesses said both parties resorted to stone pelting besides using physical force against each other.
 A forest official, Ghulam Nabi Farooqi and a an alleged timber smuggler Muhammad Shafi Bhat sustain injuries in the clashes, witnesses said adding the smugglers managed escape and left behind nearly 150 ft timber.
