Make Hurriyat (G) programmes successful: Sumji
Srinagar: Hurriyat (G) acting chairman, Ghulam Nabi Sumji has reiterated his appeal to the people to come on streets on Thursday and hold demonstrations.
Sumji urged the people of Kashmir to continue protests as, according to him, the attention of international community was focused on Kashmir issue.
Reiterating his appeal for making successful the Hurriyat programmes, the acting chairman urged the people to come on streets on July 15, Thursday, and hold demonstrations to show it to the world that “We are struggling to get freedom from India.” He has, according to Hurriyat statement, appealed to the Auto and Sumo operators not to show any negligence in making the resistance programmes successful.
Sumji appealed to the people to put on white Qameez-Shalwar on July 16, offer Friday prayers in the Masjids at centrally located places and stage protests after the Friday prayers. He urged the people of Srinagar to march towards Batamaloo to pay tributes to recently martyred youth.
Meanwhile, Sumji has urged the United Nations Secretary General, Ban Ki Moon to exert pressure on India to leave Kashmir. “Instead of acting as a mute spectator, the UN should take practical steps to exert pressure on India to leave the Jammu Kashmir. The credibility of UN will continue to be doubtful in the eyes of Kashmiris until it shuns its double standards and focus its attention on the resolution of Kashmir problem,” said Sumji.
